Military Thank You Cards

Here are some samples of cards and pocket Scripture books I made for our soldiers stationed overseas.  Of course there is a message of appreciation in every card.  Since I'm inside most of the time with Covid, it's a great way to spend my time doing something constructive.  Since I make so many, I usually do them on my PC.

I take them to Military Missions in Lexington, Ky and they send them where needed.  They are always needing thank you cards.  This is a great project for a Sunday School class or a Scout Troop.  You can check out their Face Book page for more things needed.  And of course monetary donations are appreciated, too.  Everything is tax deductible.

Christmas Cards for the Troops

I have stopped participating in craft fairs, but I still like making things especially greeting cards.  So this year I have expanded my card making.  I'm sending "Thank You" cards to our soldiers.  I take them to a drop off here in Lexington, Ky called Military Missions and they forward them on to the soldiers around the world.  Also I'm making Christmas Cards.  So far I made about 200, but can't deliver them until October.  So if this is something you would like to do, you have plenty of time to make a bunch.

I write practically the same message in each card.  Since I am doing so many, I print a generic note for the inside of the card on my PC and just sign my first name at the bottom.  In the note I tell them why I am writing, that others will be receiving a similar from me, and that I appreciate their service.  I also tell them I'm praying for their safe return.  No need for names, dates, addresses and no need for envelopes.

Here are some examples of my Christmas Cards.  As you can see they are very simple to make.  I just used a pack of Christmas card stock - nothing fancy.

2020 Natalie's Sister Cards

These are some of the cards I made for the Natalie’s Sisters Street Ministry.  What is Natalie’s Sisters?  It is a group of volunteers who minister to women of the street.  Their mission is to extend hope, support and God’s unconditional love to sexually exploited women.  They provide a variety of tasks and resources.  They prepare and take homemade food into the adult entertainment clubs, provide resources to help them improve their quality of life, visit jails and hospitals, make encouraging cards, provide sack meals, pray for their needs, etc.  See the website to find out how you can get involved - https://www.nataliessisters.org/

Inside each card I always include an encouraging quote, Bible verse or uplifting message.

Cards for Soldiers

Lately I've thinking about all the soldiers who are away from home.  I decided I wanted to do something.  So I found several websites that deliver greeting cards to the military.   I sent mine to Military Missions in Lexington, KY.

I made several "thank you" cards thanking them for their service.  Below are a few I've made.  You too can buy a box of thank you cards or make your own.  They don't have to be fancy.  It's the thought that counts.  My 9 year old grandson even made cards and drew pictures.  Many time soldiers think they are forgotten.  What better way to show your appreciation by sending a card?  I intend to send Christmas cards later this year.
